    ProcessMaker now available in French!

    admin 1:26 pm on May 25, 2009 | 0 Permalink | Reply

We are delighted to have reached another major milestone at Colosa, taking ProcessMaker into the Benelux region together with our very first European gold partner, Belgium-based Expert-IT [http://www.expert-it.com/].

This exciting new partnership will allow French speakers in Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands and France to use our ProcessMaker [http://www.processmaker.com] open-source business process management software in their local language for the very first time.

Expert IT is a fantastic addition to Colosa’s roster of 15 partners in 11 countries. As a gold partner, Expert-IT is entitled to reseller margins, access to region-specific sales leads, and support from ProcessMaker engineers, as well as numerous value-added marketing opportunities. From our point of view, Expert-IT will be providing our end customers with custom development support, consultancy, and local expertise. The partnership will also drive further expansion possibilities across the Benelux region.

Since 1996, Expert-IT has offered its own customers services that support the complete lifecycle of a software project, from requirements and analysis, through development and deployment, to training, tailor-made applications and web projects. Expert-IT provides professional services that define and manage business and software requirements. Its consultants use best practices and market leading tools to ensure customer software and systems meet business demands.

Expert-IT managing director, Albert Janssens, welcomed the new partnership: “We’re proud to be Colosa’s first European gold partner and look forward to playing a pivotal role in the company’s success across the region. There is a real demand from European small and medium businesses for a solution like ProcessMaker. It provides tangible benefits for organizations that need user-friendly ways to increase workflow efficiency, reduce paperwork, and automate operational, HR or financial systems.”

BPM top priority for CIOs, reveals Gartner

    brian 10:55 am on May 15, 2009 | 0 Permalink | Reply

In its revealing recent executive summary, ‘Improving Business Processes(PDF), analyst firm Gartner acknowledged that improving business processes remains the top business priority for CIOs.

The paper summarized: “Successful CIOs work with business leaders to identify process improvement opportunities, build competencies for managing change and demonstrate IT’s ability to improve business outcomes.”

At Colosa, we understand that implementing BPM is as much a priority for SMEs as it is for the very largest global companies. We agree with Gartner that developing a coordinated approach to business process improvement is very tricky for organizations with fragmented, cross-silo process ownership and a significant disconnect from technology implementations. CIOs of diverse companies know they must act quickly, but simply don’t have the time and resources to waste on ineffective, clumsy BPM suites.

This is why we work to develop easy-to-use tools that enable efficient and effective management and automation of operational processes without the need for specialist programming experience to model and automate everyday processes.

It’s well worth reading Gartner’s ‘Improving Business Processes’ for yourself, but here are a couple of headline statistics that are sure to grab your attention in the meantime:

    • Sixty percent of CIOs continue to rank “improving business processes” as their No. 1 priority
    • Thirty percent of CIOs said they have direct responsibility for business process improvement.

CIOs who choose to get this involved with BPM clearly believe that it is an essential foundation for future success, establishing the best organizational practice and behavior for improvement.

The difference for more nimble SME organizations however, is that developing and improving business processes through effective BPM technology needn’t prove to be such a long-term goal when simple, open source tools are already ready and available to help…
